When you register for classes at Bojangles Dance you will be required to register on our secure portal. We collect contact information such a guardian names, addresses, phone numbers, emergency contacts, email addresses and pupil information such as pupil names, DOB, medical conditions and your consent regarding photography and videos. You are under no obligation to provide this information. Everything is password protected and appropriate technical, administrative and physical procedures are in place to ensure that your information is protected.
Before or at the time of collecting information, we will identify the purposes for which the information is being collected.
Your information will be collected by lawful and fair means, with knowledge or consent of the individual concerned.
HOW IS THE INFORMATION USED?
This information is needed to manage a studio business and will not be used or sold for any other purpose.

ENROLMENT
Terms of enrolment
The following terms have been put in place to ensure that each pupil at Bojangles Dance has a safe and positive learning experience. Please read these terms carefully before registering on the portal.
General
Registration on the portal must be completed prior to your child’s first class. If any information changes you must inform the office as soon as possible.
We are unable to allow parents to watch classes every week. However there will be opportunities to see your child’s progression in open classes held at intervals during the year.
Pupils are encouraged to take exams when we feel they have achieved the appropriate standard, however exams are not mandatory at Bojangles. Entry for examinations is at your teachers' discretion.
Classes take place during term time only. Please check our diary dates section for more information.
Fees
The first class may is a free trial lesson. After this, fees are payable on a half termly basis.
Half a term’s notice must be given if a pupil wishes to discontinue their classes. In lieu of notice, half a term’s fees will be charged.
If a class has to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances then either another class will be arranged or class fees will be refunded.

Code of conduct for class
We ask that all pupils and parents/guardians observe the following:
- For the comfort and safety of pupils we request that full and correct uniform is worn to all classes. Uniform guidelines are available in the shop or on the website. Hair should be tied back from the face for all classes, a bun is preferable for ballet. Jewellery must not be worn during class.
- Pupils must arrive in plenty of time to prepare for class.
- Parents/guardians are asked to remain on the premises during the child’s class wherever possible. Should you need to go and come back then we ask that you leave only once the child is in the class, and return in plenty of time for the end of the class.
- Children must not be left unattended in the kitchen or waiting areas.
- Only water is to be brought into class. Water is available in the kitchen during breaks. All rubbish must be disposed of and dishes used, washed up and cleared away.
- Pupils must be respectful to the teacher and other students at all times. Pupils who breach this rule will be asked to leave the class.
- If you cannot attend class for any reason we would be grateful if you could let us know 24 hours or as soon as possible in advance.
Child protection and other policies
Bojangles Dance is committed to providing training for young dancers in a safe and appropriate environment. In accordance with this, we have the following policies in place.

Full policies are available upon request. Please note the following important points:
- In the event of accident, injury or extreme illness when the pupil’s parent/guardian is not immediately available, your child's teacher will act “in loco parentis". This may mean administering first aid or calling an ambulance if necessary.
- Due to the nature of dance teaching it will sometimes be necessary for the teacher to have physical contact with your child to ensure correct posture/placement for safe dance practice. By registering on the portal you are providing your consent for this. If you have any concerns, please speak to your teacher.
- Photographs may be taken by Bojangles Dance for the sole purpose of publicity (e.g. website and flyers). We will endeavour to inform you in advance of any photographs being taken of your child. If you do not wish your child to appear in any photographs please inform us in writing.
- Bojangles follows the syllabus provided by the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) and the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) which are planned and taught so as to encourage a safe and positive learning experience for your child.
- All teachers at Bojangles are subject to an enhanced disclosure Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) or the new vetting and barring (DBS) check and copies can be seen upon request
